I’ve been using Brain.fm as a subscriber for 13 months (a Christmas present from Jesse :)). I tested it for two months before that. For over a year it was used in the mornings at my desk, it did help my mind focus. When I write or find that I need to pay more attention or be more creative or whatever, I turn it on.
Now my wife uses it at night and it’s totally messed up my morning routine!
A bit of background…… Brain.fm has recorded sounds, right now I’m listing to waves rolling in on a beach, with ‘brain wave’ stuff hidden underneath. There’s focus, relax, meditate and…….sleep.
Christine started tossing and turning more than usual at night getting less ‘good sleep’ and decided to use the iOS app (not on android yet…crap!). She now sleeps much better. GREAT!
Here’s the kicker, I don’t wake up at 2 or 3 or even 4 or 5 any more. It’s 5:30 or 6 before I finally wake up and by then I’ve missed all that productive work time.
I know, I used to complain about waking up at 2:30, laying in bed for an hour before I finally got up and now I’m complaining about not waking up early. I’m never satisfied………….
The extra sleep is nice but I need to get back to my routine. No an alarm won’t do it, it would wake her up. My internal clock needs a resetting to ignore the app and just wake up.
OK, this is not meant to be a commercial for Brain.fm and no, I have no affiliate agreement or connection with them in any way, I just like it. Not the sleeping too late thing though.
I just need to figure out how to reset my internal alarm.
